Syllabus

For any course that is scheduled, a course syllabus must be filed with the Dean of the College at least one week prior to the start of classes and preferably before faculty leave at the end of the prior semester. Syllabi must be posted on the LMS at least one week prior to the start of classes.

The syllabus is to be provided to each student in each class, either in paper or electronic form, and should be covered with students at the beginning of the term. The syllabus should use the appropriate template (face to face, hybrid, online, or service learning) and include:

1. Course name, number, and number of credits

2. Class meeting time and location

3. Instructor s name and title

4. Instructor s office location, phone, Donnelly email, and office hours

5. Instructor s office phone number

6. Course description (Should match college catalog description)

7. Donnelly College Learning Outcomes, Program Learning Outcomes and Student Learning Outcomes*

8. Textbook information (author, title, edition, publisher)

9. Supplementary readings, mandatory and/or suggested

10. Technology requirements (if applicable)

11. Attendance policy/Grading policy

12. Assessment criteria

13. Assignments and course calendar

14. Statement regarding disability accommodations/assistance (IMPORTANT that this is communicated to all students on the first day of classes. If a student is missing, email this information to the missing student)

*Meet with the Department Chair to discuss Program Learning Outcomes and Student Learning Outcomes.
