Progressive Disciplinary Process

The Nursing Program utilizes a progressive approach to discipline, depending on the nature and severity of the violation:

1. Verbal Warning
   1. Informal counseling by the instructor
   2. Warning documented in the student’s file
2. Written Warning
   1. Formal signed documentation of the violation
   2. Includes clear expectations for improvement and a follow-up timeline
3. Remediation Plan or Probation
   1. A written improvement plan with defined goals, support resources, deadlines and consequences for non-compliance
4. Program Dismissal
   1. Dismissal for repeated or severe violations
   2. Requires review by the Director of Nursing and Dean
   3.  All students have the right to appeal dismissals by submitting an academic appeal to the Director of Nursing and the Dean of the College within seven days of notification.
