Instructor Absence/Leave

The employee's Department Director should be informed by completing the Faculty Absence Notification Form in writing ahead of time or as soon as possible.

• If an instructor is unable to teach their scheduled classes, they are responsible for finding a substitute instructor or for making an alternative assignment.
• In the event of the absence of the Department Director, the Dean should be notified.
• An instructor with an unreported or unexcused absence from class may be subject to termination of employment.
