IT 110 Network Fundamentals

This course is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the foundational concepts involved in computer networks and telecommunications. The OSI model will be examined in detail, and common protocols and their operations will be studied. Network devices and services, cabling, addressing, switching, routing, and the flow of data will be covered within the context of small wired and wireless local area networks, wide area telecommunications carrier topologies, and enterprise networks. Fundamental network security, operation, troubleshooting, planning, and implementation considerations will be introduced throughout.
