Policy Changes and Governance
Introducing New Policies and Changes
Proposed non-academic college policies, and changes to current non-academic policies may be submitted to any member of the Donnelly Cabinet (the Vice Presidents). If approved by Cabinet, the proposal would then continue to the Leadership Council. After both groups have approved, the Administrative Council will finish the policy details. Archdiocese Legal counsel will be consulted if necessary. As a last step, the policy will be forwarded to the President for final approval.
If the new policy or change is due to a legal or federal mandate the HR (Human Resources) Director or the Chief Financial Officer will submit the policy directly to the President for approval.
If the approved change or mandate requires a vote by the Board, the President will present the policy at a Board meeting. The President may request the attendance of the Human Resources Coordinator or Chief Financial Officer to provide details and answer questions.
Approved new and changed policies will be announced and/or emailed to the Donnelly community with information on where the permanent policy or procedure will be posted on the Donnelly website.
Requests concerning academic policies should be sent to the Academic Council.

Administrative Structure
Donnelly College is governed by a Board of Directors which meets quarterly and has powers and authority granted by the Donnelly College Corporation to govern the business and educational affairs of the College.
One of the primary responsibilities of the Board of Directors is the selection and hiring of the President of the College. The President administers the business, academic, and other affairs of the college, subject to the direction of the Board of Directors. The President is authorized by the Board of Directors to appoint key administrators for the administration of the College.
The College as Community
An important aspect of the governance structure of Donnelly College is the widespread involvement of staff, faculty, and administration in the planning and decision-making processes. The College seeks to share thoughts and ideas among all constituencies. Our small size and compact spaces provide not only the advantage of personalized instruction and attention to our students, but the small size also allows us to congregate for all community meetings which brings together all parts of the faculty and staff for conversation.
