PB 110 Public Health in America

This course is designed to provide an overview of the health care system in America, the history of its evolution, and areas of health care reform. This course will also explore predisposing characteristics to healthcare access, as well as public health approaches to managed care, outpatient services, and inpatient services. Students in this course will be challenged to consider paradox of the U.S. health care delivery system, and how large expenditures on health care have not resulted in best outcomes due in part to issues of cost, access, and quality.
