Donnelly has a ROLLING ADMISSIONS POLICY & NO APPLICATION FEE. Below are step-by-step instructions to walk you through our admissions process. Some programs in the nursing department have additional admissions requirements and may be selective.
COMPLETE YOUR ADMISSIONS CHECKLIST
There are three required documents you must submit before you can enroll at Donnelly:

- Donnelly requires either an ACT/SAT test score, or students can take the Accuplacer Next-Generation on campus (FREE) to be placed into appropriate level courses. Sign up for the ACT here. ACT scores can be sent to us by using Donnelly’s ACT code 1404 or by requesting the scores be sent to Donnelly.
- We accept ACCUPLACER scores in place of the ACT. To schedule your ACCUPLACER test, email us. For more information on testing hours, placement into college courses and more resources for studying, click here.
- Testing can be waived if students have completed Composition I & College Algebra with a C or better.
APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID
1. Complete the FAFSA.
If you have not applied for the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), apply for free here. Donnelly’s school code is 001914. If you need further assistance, please schedule a time to meet with our TRIO associate.
We have many scholarships that do not require you to be FAFSA eligible. Fill out Donnelly's Family Contribution Estimator Form here.
The FAFSA must be completed before you can apply for scholarships.
- Scholarships - More than 50 merit-, criteria- and need-based scholarships, including a GUARANTEED MERIT SCHOLARSHIP!
- Tuition & Fees - Our listed tuition is before scholarships and grants are applied.
- Financial Aid - Many programs qualify for federal financial aid (FAFSA Code 001914). Most full-time students who qualify for full Pell Grant pay little to no tuition!
ENROLL IN CLASSES
After all required application documents listed above are submitted and processed, a Donnelly admissions counselor will contact you to get enrolled. You will need to visit campus to complete the final steps of becoming a Donnelly student. Here's what you can expect during your visit:
Apply for Financial Aid
If requesting financial aid or scholarships, complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) electronically, selecting Donnelly College to receive the results. (Donnelly’s school code is 001914). If unable to complete a FAFSA, complete an Institutional Aid application. Applications can be obtained from an Admissions Counselor or the Office of Financial Aid.
Request official transcripts
Official Transcripts
All degree-seeking students must have graduated high school to take classes at Donnelly College. (Non- traditional students include dually enrolled high school students).
As a part of the admissions and enrollment process, students must submit an official copy of all transcripts to the Donnelly College Registrar’s Office. The student is responsible for contacting the institutions they have attended and requesting their official transcripts be mailed or electronically delivered (through direct transmission from secured sites of authorized institutions).
If a student is enrolled at another institution (either high school or college), they can submit an unofficial transcript listing previous courses taken and courses in progress at the time of admission. Final official transcripts must be submitted before the first day of class. A student can enroll in classes, but the student will be dropped from classes after the add/drop period if they haven’t submitted their final official transcripts. The only exception is if a student has earned either their associate degree or has 60 credit hours on file, in which case all college transcripts need to be submitted. **Nursing will not enroll students in classes without an official transcript.
Foreign Education Transcripts
Students who graduated from an international high school must have their high school transcript(s) and/or diploma officially evaluated by an approved transcript evaluation service. Transcript(s) and/or diploma must meet United States high school equivalency standards. A completed document by document report is required. The student assumes all responsibility for costs associated with the evaluation. Transcripts must be submitted directly to the Registrar’s Office from the Evaluator through a secure service to be considered official.
Evaluations must be performed by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE). Please see their websites for information on finding current members and their contact information:

Submit Test Scores
Students without ACT or SAT scores will take the Accuplacer placement test.
Placement testing is required for students without recent (within the last three years) ACT or SAT scores. The results of the Accuplacer test help place students in appropriate level courses. Accuplacer scores from other institutions may be submitted if they are from the same battery of tests used by Donnelly College and the scores are no more than three years old. Placement testing is free for prospective students; students may re-test one time in one or more areas. The table below shows English and math placements based on test scores:
